Removal of the Impurities, Nucleic Acid and Polysaccharide, from Twercijlin Protein* by Florence
نویسنده
چکیده
By the methods most generally used in the past for the purification of the tuberculin protein nucleic acid and polysaccharide often have not been removed. While in most of the final fractions the nucleic acid content varied from 4 to 8 per cent, in a few cases it was as high as 30 to 40 per cent and in others as low as 0.8 per cent. Such a low figure as the latter, however, could not bc attained at will, and seemed to be dependent upon a low initial nucleic acid concentration in the source material. The polysaccharide content ranged from 3 to 40 per cent. However, the size of the tuberculin reaction produced in many series of tests in man or experimental animals by these preparations was independent of the quantities of nucleic acid and polysaccharide present. Therefore, both of these substances may be considered impurities and should be eliminated, if possible, in the purification of the protein, especially since the presence of the nucleic acid, in particular, modified many of the physicochemical properties of the protein, such as isoelectric point, electrophoretic mobilities, and solubilities.

Removal of Impurities fromWaste Oil by Combination of Eggshell and Eggshell's active Carbon for Biodiesel Production
Waste oil is an inexpensive source for biodiesel production, but the high amount of impurities present (free fatty acids, oxidation products) impedes its practical application. The aim of this work is to assess the purification efficiency of the adsorption process with eggshell and its active carbon. Carbonization of eggshell was done at 200 ºC for 4 hours. For activation of the resultant carbo...

Background & Objectives: Antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNA) that target growth essential genes show potent bactericidal properties without cell lysis. We considered the possibility that whether PNA treatment influence the bacteria total nucleic acids content and apply approach to develop a new delivery system to Dendritic cells (DCs). DCs are the most potent antigen presenting cells in th...

متن کاملDesulfurization of coal by HNO3 leaching: Optimization of influential factors using Box-Behnken design
Sulfur is one of the most significant impurities in coal, which reduces the quality of coal and also results in environmental pollution. This work was aimed to investigate the removal of sulfur from coal by the leaching method employing parameters expected to affect the removal rate such as acid concentration (10-30%), temperature (40-80 °C), and reaction time (40-100 min). A response surface m...
